Richard played collegiately at Iowa State before continuing his career at the next level, including a professional stint with the Toronto Argonauts. He earned all-state honors and was named to the Detroit Dream Team after helping lead his team to three consecutive Division 3 state championships, including a 2016 title victory over Muskegon.
